Jet Setting

Life is good when you love your job!  This week I had the opportunity to tour a nuclear power plant, visit the beautiful town of Avila Beach, and ride in a private jet.  It's going to be hard to go back to commercial air travel.  Although nuclear power is low-cost, clean, and reliable, it has understandably been getting a lot of attention recently due to the crisis at the Fukushima nuclear facility in Japan resulting from the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and tsunami.  If you're interested in learning more about nuclear power check it out here.
Imagine air travel without the security lines, you can carry on all the liquids you desire, and park for free less than 100 feet from the plane.

Views from the plane shortly after flying over Hearst Castle.

Security is taken very seriously at the plant and we were not allowed to take any photos on site.  My favorite warning sign exclaimed, "Do Not Enter!  Deadly force may be used to protect this facility."  I decided it best to follow the rules so I refrained from sneaking a few shots with my phone.
